PRESCHOOL GYMNASTICS

2-5 year old girls

(age as of Sep 1 of current school year)

PRESCHOOL GYMNASTICS CLASSES

Vision Gymnastics' Preschool Gymnastics Program is a developmental sequence of movements taught utilizing games, obstacle courses, special equipment, drills and gymnastics. Fundamental motor, gross motor, locomotion, and manipulative skills are all incorporated into a well structured lesson plan specially designed for children 2 to 5 years old. Through innovative, challenging lessons, our Preschool Program strives to develop and fine-tune many essential qualities in each child. Grouped by age and skill level, our beginners participate and learn in an atmosphere that enables every child to be successful, thus increasing each child's level of self-esteem. This positive desire to achieve then carries over into their daily encounters outside of Vision Gymnastics.

Vision Gymnastics has 3 levels of Preschool Gymnastics Classes grouped by both skill level and child's age as of September 1st of the current school year.

Tiny Tots is for boys and girls, ages 2 to 3 years old. While one adult is welcome to attend this class with the child, our goal is to help the child attend the class independently. Parents will be required to be on the premises of Vision Gymnastics while the child is in class in the event the coach needs the parents help.  Tiny Tots will be 40 minutes and will be held in the

Multi-Purpose Classroom upstairs.

Somersaults is for girls, ages 3-5 years old who have no prior gymnastics experience and for returning students who haven't completed the Somersaults curriculum.  Girls will attend the class independently without a parent or caregiver.  Somersaults is 50 minutes and will meet either upstairs in the Multi-Purpose classroom or in the main gym at gym/coach discretion.

Flip Flops is for girls, ages 4-5 years old, who have completed the Somersaults class or the equivalent (as determined by a Vision coach through an evaluation).  Flip Flops is 60 minutes and will be held in the main gym.

RECREATIONAL GYMNASTICS

6-18 year old girls

(age as of Sep 1 of current school year)

Vision Gymnastics' Recreational Gymnastics program is for girls ages 6 years old and older. Our program is based on the guidelines set forth by USA Gymnastics and is for the beginner as well as the advanced gymnast.  Athletes will receive instruction on all four women’s Olympic gymnastics events: balance beam, floor exercise mat, uneven bars, and vaulting table. To help build confidence in skills, they will use the tumble trac, in-ground trampolines and the foam pits. Our curriculum includes games, stretches, drills, and activities that build the foundation for the gymnastics skills the students require for each level.  The classes are designed to build strength, flexibility, and confidence while promoting teamwork, increasing fitness and teaching basic gymnastic skills.

Vision Gymnastics has 5 levels of Recreational Gymnastics Classes, however, all girls ages 6-18 years old* should begin in a Vision A class unless they have had at least 1 year experience on all 4 events:  Bar, Beam, Floor AND Vault.

Our Vision B, Vision C, Vision D, and Vision E classes as well as our PreTeam and Team Levels 1-10 require an evaluation to enter unless students have been moved up by their current coach. Girls who have had at least a year gymnastics instruction ON ALL 4 EVENTS should be evaluated before registering for a class to ensure she is entered into the appropriate level.  Evaluations cost $10 per evaluation and can be scheduled through the Vision Gymnastics office.  The $10 evaluation fee will be deducted from the registration fee once your child is enrolled at Vision.  If you choose not to enroll with Vision, the evaluation fee of $10 is non-refundable.
